HEAVENLY HIBISCUS
It’s almost like Mother Nature really took her time with this herb. Not only does HIBISCUS have some incredible health benefits but you also can’t deny that refreshingly tart, cranberry-like flavor!
Hibiscus teas are commonly prepared all around the world as an infusion from crimson or deep magenta-colored calyces (sepals) of the roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) flower - consumed both hot and cold. The drink is sometimes called roselle (a name for the flower) or rosella (Australia); sorrel in Jamaica, Belize, Barbados, Guyana, Dominica, and Trinidad and Tobago; red sorrel in the wider Caribbean; and agua/rosa de Jamaica or simply Jamaica in the United States, Mexico, and Central America. It is also known as zobo or bissap in west African countries like Nigeria.
Hibiscus is most known for its ability to help lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
This beautiful plant is also rich in vitamin C, helps prevent hyper tension, reduce blood sugar levels, soothe menstrual cramps, and is extremely high in anti-oxidants - helping to reduce free radical damage. Needless to say we use hibiscus in a few of our tea blends.
